I want to give you some informations about this pattern ;
Materials:
Size G (4mm) crochet hook
Stitch marker
Green worsted weight yarn
White worsted weight yarn
Black worsted weight yarn (just enough for mouth)
Two buttons for eyes (or safety eyes if for a small child)
Upholstery needle
Polyfill (or extra yarn as stuffing)
Gauge:
Unimportant
Notes:
*Work in a spiral, do NOT join at the end of each round unless noted
*Use your stitch marker to note the beginning stitch of each row
*Use Invisible Decrease for prettier sc2tog
Head:
Round 1: Magic circle. 8sc in circle. (8)
Round 2: 2sc in each st around (16)
Round 3: sc in each st around (16)
Round 4: *sc in next st, 2sc in next* repeat from * * around (24)
Round 5: sc in each st around (24)
Round 6: *sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next* repeat from * * around (32)
Round 7: sc in each st around (32)
Round 8: *sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next* repeat from * * around (40)
Rounds 9-11: sc in each st around (40)
Round 12: *sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog* repeat from * * around (32)
Round 13: sc in each st around (32)
Round 14: *sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog* repeat from * * around (24)
Round 15: sc in each st around (24)
Round 16: *sc in next st, sc2tog* repeat from * * around (16)
Round 17: sc in each st around (16)
***add stuffing and begin strap***
Squish the head closed and line up the remaining 16 sts. Crochet through the very first two, then the next two, then the next two etc to the end until you have a closed head with 8 stitches across.
Strap:
Rows 1 – 50 (or until strap is about 9” long): Ch-1, sc in each st across. (8)
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Eyes (make two):
with white yarn
Round 1: Magic circle. 8sc in circle. (8)
Round 2: 2sc in each st around (16)
Round 3 & 4: sc in each st around (16)
Round 5: sc2tog around (8)
***add stuffing***
Round 6: sc2tog around (4)
Fasten off and sew tail into the backside of the eyeball.
Eyelids (make two):
With green yarn
Round 1: Magic circle. Ch-1, 8sc in circle. Join with sl st to top of first sc (8)
Round 2: Ch-1, 2sc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of first sc (16)
Rounds 3 & 4: Ch-1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of first sc (16)
Round 5: ch-1, sc in next 13 sts.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Feet (make two):
Ch-6, sl st in the 2nd ch from hk and in next ch. Ch-3, sl st in 2nd ch from hk and in next. Ch-3, sl st in 2nd ch from hk and in next. Ch-3, sl st in 2nd ch from hk and in next. Sl st up beg ch.
CONSTRUCTION:
Place the eyeballs inside the eyelids, and position on top of the head. I placed the eyes about three rows down from the top of the head. When sewing, hook some of the actual eyeball so that it doesn’t pop out later. We want whole, intact eyeballs.
Using just a bit of black yarn, sew a little smile. Add the feet three stitches in from each side along the bottom. And you.are.done. Woot! Look at that adorable frog bookmark!! ♥
